Arthritis Walk
Garden City Cranston, Saturday May 9, at 9 am
Dear Family and Friends -
I am pictured here (still recovering from foot surgery) at our 2008 Arthritis Walk,
working as an employee of the Arthritis Foundation Northern and Southern New England Chapter.
This year, my participation in the walk will be much dearer to my heart. I am walking on behalf of my sister Nancy who was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) in December. This is a painful and sometimes deadly form of Arthritis.
• Arthritis is one of the most prevalent chronic health problems and one of the nation's most common causes of disability.
• One in five (21%) adults in the United States report having doctor-diagnosed arthritis
• Arthritis is the third leading cause of work limitation in the United States.
• Arthritis costs the U.S. economy $128 billion annually.
• Nearly 300,000 children under the age of 17 are affected by juvenile arthritis.
I am taking on the challenge to make a difference for my sister by participating in the Arthritis Walk on Saturday, May 9 as a part of Let's Move Together, the Arthritis Foundation's nationwide movement that encourages people to move to prevent or treat arthritis.
